Can't we all just get along?

Well it seems that there is another flurry of posts about frameworks again. (See Sean Corfield's recent post, which has links to several relevant posts. Not for the faint of heart.) All I have to say, is why can't we all just agree to disagree and move on? If you don't like frameworks, then simply don't use them! If you're worried about folks who are new to ColdFusion or OO trying to use framworks, why not take the time to help them along, rather than worry about what they're not ready for yet? Saying frameworks suck because some people are not experienced enough to use them yet, is like saying grocery stores suck because some people can't cook.

Bloggers, here's what I propose. Next time you feel the urge to post a pro-framework or anti-framework post, do the following instead.

If you are anti-framework:
Write a post explaining an intermediate or advanced CF or OO concept in plain English¹ with a simple example.

If you are pro-framework:
Write a how-to post takling one topic of your favorite framework in plain English¹ with a simple example. It would probably be best to pick something that is not covered in the existing documentation, or that may be unclear or vague to you.

As for me, I plan to work up a post asap, explainig a problem² I recently encountered while using Model Glue, and how I resolved the problem.

¹Feel free to repace English with whatever your native language is.
²Developer problem, not a Model Glue problem.

We're back and we have the combination...

Wow, August and September have been crazy for me between being short two people at work, some much needed vacation time, and some major changes in my personal life, I've barely had time to sleep let alone post. Not much new around here other than the design, which is in the process of changing yet again. The current version is based on an article over at A List Apart called In Search of the Holy Grail.
